I Synced using my smartphone reader and saw hundreds of items, which was
strange since RSSowl was showing many fewer items. More, I saw items from 2
days ago and I know that I had synced and all were read as as 3-4 PM
yesterday. I opened Google Reader and saw that the counts for various feeds
were different. I picked a feed and saw articles from 3 days ago as unread. I
looked at RSSowl and these arecles were there and marked as read. I did a sync
for the feed and nothing changed on either end. The tools/sync status shows a
sync with reader 20 minutes ago, when I did the manual sync.
So, there is something strage happening with the google reader sync. I did
have a crash a few days ago and I wonder if some items are marked as read on
rssowl but never synced back to google. something is amiss in the sync
process.

Just to say, RSSOwl has a backup of items that where not synced to GR and will
retry to sync with GR on a dirty shutdown. In theory if RSSOwl crashes before
this list is stored to disk (flushed) it might get lost, but its very
unlikely.

RSSOwl 2.1.4 is out with a fix for the "400 Bad Request" issue when RSSOwl
tries to synchronize many news to GR. If you are still seeing this issue with
2.1.4, a workaround is to limit the number of news per feed (using Properties
Clean Up settings).
