Bugs item #1026602, was opened at 2004-09-12 08:22 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=104932&aid=1026602&group_id=4932 Category: notation Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 8 Submitted By: D. Michael McIntyre (dmmcintyr) Assigned to: Chris Cannam (cannam) Summary: notation prints full-color; notes never black Initial Comment: Red barlines are printed in gray. All notes and rests are printed in gray. Staff lines and text elements come out in black. I don't have a color printer, so I can't quite guess where the colored notes are coming from. They could be blue, or they could be puke green. If I think about it, I'll try on a color printer tomorrow. If I think about it. Anyway, notation has always been a black and white world. I can see where it *might* be useful to have the ability to print things in full color, but it should be optional, and not the default option. Since adding a toggle at this stage is firmly in the realm of feature, rather than fix, I submit the only reasonable course here and now is to force printing to be solid black on white, perhaps leaving the door open to permit a color toggle in the future. How to fix it, I'm not sure. It seems that what comes out on paper is rendered directly from the QCanvas or whatever where the notation elements are actually drawn. If it's possible to do some kind of color depth conversion internally, it might not be sufficiently reliable to do so. When going from color/grayscale to undithered 2-bit color, everything on the wrong side of the value divide turns white. I think this means the only way to handle is to re-draw the thing internally without any color other than black prior to printing. Think, but really have little clue how any of that works. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=104932&aid=1026602&group_id=4932 |
