So we would either need to get this change into KDE (in which case it becomes a question of policy for KDE as a whole) or cut 'n paste the KDE dialog code (in which case we lose out on any enhancements made to the KDE version in future). Either way, there is obviously also a question of consistency with other KDE applications. Had it been possible to simply subclass the KDE dialog, I'd have done so already and just accepted the inconsistency with other apps. (When it's just a question of code, it's usually hardly worth discussing.) Since that's not possible, any solution will be a tradeoff, which is why it's worth the time to discuss whether the tradeoff is worthwhile. Chris |
