OK, so I can't use timidity and jack together? I'd use iiwusynth, but it's not debianed, and won't even compile for me, which ain't great. In fact, the .configure gives me: ************************************************************** Summary: ALSA: yes OSS: yes MidiShare: no JACK: no Sound file: yes Readline: yes Debug: no Profiling: no LADSPA support: no ************************************************************** So it doesn't see jackd. Do I need jackd sources, or headers, maybe? The failure at compile time is: --------- gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -fomit-frame-pointer -funroll-all-loops -O2 -Wall -W -Wpointer-arith -Wbad-function-cast -Wcast-qual -Wcast-align -Wstrict-prototypes -Wno-unused -c iiwu_cmd.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/iiwu_cmd.lo iiwu_cmd.c:31: readline/readline.h: No such file or directory iiwu_cmd.c:32: readline/history.h: No such file or directory make[1]: *** [iiwu_cmd.lo] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/iiwusynth-0.2.2/src' make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 --------- Thoughts, as always, welcome. -Mike. <SNIP> > Brief email found on LAU, of possible interest to those having trouble > with Timidity and Rosegarden.
