Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Craig McQueen (cmcqueen1975) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Crash on save-and-exit, and erase saved file Initial Comment: I'm using Rosegarden 1.2.3 on FC5 with a Planet CCRMA kernel: 2.6.16-1.2080.16.rdt.rhfc5.ccrma. Today I've been working on a MIDI piece. When I'd got something substantial done, I decided to close Rosegarden. Rosegarden said "File has changed, do you want to save?" so I said yes. It crashed. When I restarted and tried to open the file, it said it was corrupted. I had a look and the length of the file was 0. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Craig McQueen (cmcqueen1975) Date: 2006-08-20 14:24 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1579704 I should clarify -- I'd already saved the file previously. And I'd only made a few further changes. So not only did it fail to save the latest, it ERASED the work I'd previously saved. I was very sad... Rosegarden should really do the save process in such a way that a crash or power failure at ANY POINT should not cause everything to be lost. That means don't just overwrite the previous file, but copy it to a temporary/backup file, THEN save the new stuff, THEN (optionally) delete the temporary/backup file. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=104932&aid=1543316&group_id=4932 |
