Pardon?  Are you saying that you've tried out the experimental
branch and didn't find it an improvement?  If not, what?

I managed to give the experimental branch a quick go last night
(rebuilt from CVS and reinstalled), and it was obviously having
some problem clearing out or replacing the shm file.  When I hit
play, I got the file currently loaded _and_ the file I loaded
last time I used it (some reboots ago) playing at the same time.
I exited and started it up again with another file, and this
time got all three at once.

Didn't have time to investigate.
