MIDI import ----------- I would very much like to have the option to import a MIDI file into a Rosegarden composition without the latter beeing forced to close. Currently there is *no* way to import a simple single voice into a (new) track ... Optional: A dialog similar to this: +----------------------------------------------+ | Import track(s) from MIDI file: [__________] | <-- filename | | | [____] selected source channel | <-- default: all | | | [____] import into track | <-- default: channel to track +----------------------------------------------+ MIDI export ----------- I would like to be able to select one or another track in Rosegarden and export it to a MIDI file. Optionally a MIDI channel number could be offered. Sth like this: +-----------------------------------------------+ | Export track(s) to MIDI file: [_____________] | <-- filename | | | [______] selected track(s) | <-- multi selector box (default: | | currently selected track(s)) | | | Save to channel # [ 1] | <-- Optional: Save to selectable channel +-----------------------------------------------+ BTW, I know of the affinity to new features, features, features ... but would obviously prefer more reliablity and completeness in basic matters: * Copy and Paste standardized (Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V) * Select and *UNSELECT*, both notation and track window * Possible text dialog for "copy xxx measure(s) from track/bar/beat/tick to track/bar/beat/tick" and such * Select via event filter ("select all tempo changes", "select all f#3's", "select range/octave/whatever"). I think, these are very basic tasks for a good sequencer. And - yes - I have good ole Cakewalk-4.0/DOS in mind ;-) Regards, Frank |
