Category: None Group: None Status: Open >Priority: 2 Private: No Submitted By: Peter Gantner (nephros) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: remove the hyphen from the project name Initial Comment: I move the renaming of the project from re-alpine to realpine. Rationale: puns and abiguous naming of software have a long tradition in hacker culture. By removing the hyphen, the name could either interpreted as re(born)-alpine, suggesting the alpine heritage as originally suggested by Andraz Levstik, or real-pine suggesting UW pine heritage. Also, real pine smells nice. Now, I know it's immature, trivial, unimportant, not worth the effort etc, but please, could we at least have the /binary/ be called realpine instead of re-alpine? To me, hyphenated commands feel very awkward when they could be one word. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Peter Gantner (nephros) Date: 2009-06-25 17:32 Message: PS: I don't speak autotools very well but I would be willing to try to come up with the necessary changes if this is at all considered. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=1128051&aid=2812220&group_id=264924 |
