Message: The following issue has been closed. --------------------------------------------------------------------- View the issue: http://support.rainbowportal.net/jira/browse/RBP-131 Here is an overview of the issue: --------------------------------------------------------------------- Key: RBP-131 Summary: Images do not display after installation Type: Support Issue Status: Closed Priority: Major Resolution: INCOMPLETE Project: Rainbow Portal Assignee: Emmanuele De Andreis Reporter: tobewan Created: gio, 22 apr 2004 4:22 AM Updated: lun, 17 gen 2005 1:04 PM Description: I installed Rainbow on my local PC and it worked pretty good so I decided to setup a site at webhost4life. (after failing to get it working at hostdepartment.com - bottom line, control panel at wh4l let's you do what you need to do to get Rainbow to work - or so it seems). Anyway, I finally got Rainbow installed and working - except that some of the images do not display! what I did to install was this: Had WH4L setup a temporary hostname for the site Uploaded the rc3 zip to the site and unzipped it to /Rainbow Added ASPNET user with full rights to the permissions on /Rainbow Created an IIS ASP application for /Rainbow Created an empty MSSQL database called Rainbow and SQL user for it Edited the web.config connection string Opened http://klscnet.mysite4now.com/Rainbow Ran the setup scripts from the web page and it completed successfully. But some of the images do not display, even though the URL is correct and the image files are there. http://klscnet.mysite4now.com/rainbow/Design/Themes/ MsDefault/edit.gif - this is okay. http://klscnet.mysite4now.com/rainbow/Design/Themes/ MsDefault/Properties.gif - does not display I suspect something to do with the filename case and/or Theme.XML as I notice that the filename for the Properties image is 'properties.gif' in the file system. ...more info... What's going on is that the setup process is creating content/links with the 'Rainbow' directory name in lower case instead of upper case. If I grab the source of a page, edit the image src tags to have '/Rainbow/....' instead of '/rainbow/...' in the href, all the images display. It is unclear to me what mechanism has squirreled away the name in lower case - this did not happen in my local install. I expanded all the files into a directory named 'Rainbow' I created the IIS ASP application and named it 'Rainbow' I opened the site url using 'http://klscnet.mysite4now.com/Rainbow' when the setup screen displays, the URL in the address bar now has 'rainbow' in lower case. I tried changing the URL to upper case and then running the setup process - but the problem remains. We need a repeatable, reliable process for getting this installed on a hosted environment! --------------------------------------------------------------------- JIRA INFORMATION: This message is automatically generated by JIRA.
