Linux & Windows GUI that enables rapid selection & hashing of files (individually or recursively), text and physical disks. Designed for Linux, but also available for Windows. MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA512 available. CSV\HTML\Clipboard output.

A source directory can be hashed, then copied & reconstructed to a destination folder where the content is then hashed again (verification).

Selected file masks available (.doc; .xls etc).

Since v.2.4.0 Windows users are able to hash physical disks (SHA-1 only).

LINUX USERS NOTE:

64-bit distros need 64-bit version of QuickHash
32-bit distros need 32-bit version of QuickHash
(Both versions are in the tar.gz compressed Linux download)

Ensure the downloaded binary is executable : right click --> permissions --> "Allow executing as a program" or in the terminal type "chmod +x QuickHash". To be able to hash disks in Linux, run as sudo, choose 'File' tab and choose --> /dev/sdX (see below):

Run from terminal: sudo ./Quickhash

NOTE: In Linux, make sure the binary is executable (either right click and in permissions area tick the box "Allow executing as a program" or in terminal "chmod +x QuickHash-Linux". To be able to hash disks in Linux, run it at the terminal (as follows: sudo ./QuickHash) and navigate to /dev/sdX (for physical disk) or /dev/sdXX (for logical drive). You may not be able to run it from a USB drive - copy it to your PC and run it from there.

Note that QuickHash comes installed in the CAINE Linux boot CD, avoiding any permissions difficulties. http://www.caine-live.net/
