Dear Caleb, Of course, we understand that the threading and synchronization primitives in QuickFIX work fine on many platforms. Anyway the service that we want to design and implement will embed the QuickFix library, but it will require A LOT MORE of multithreading code for our own purposes. So we will NOT change the QuickFix library at all. We simply need to wrap it in a large application which needs be written. For this new part of SW we are trying to locate the best open-source portable library to handle multithreading in a way that will make it easy to create SW for Windows 2000, SUN Solaris, Linux, ... . Again, thank you for your contribution.
