Hello there good peaople here is my problem I'm using Slacware 12.0 kernel 2.6.23 uname -a gives this Linux tiger 2.6.23.11 #14 Tue Dec 18 22:47:12 CET 2007 i686 AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2200+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux my gcc is 4.1.2 came by default lsusb gives this: Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 Bus 001 Device 002: ID 046d:092f Logitech, Inc. Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000 /sbin/lsmod | grep -i usb gives nothing because I've compiled kernel without modules This is from modprobe when I used it first with -r and then without it Dec 19 00:15:57 tiger kernel: usbcore: deregistering interface driver quickcam Dec 19 00:16:11 tiger kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver quickcam When I use insmod ./quickcam.ko it loads fine without any warning or error messages, in fact without messages at all. modprobe quickcam also works fine but there is no /dev/video When I try # mknod /dev/video0 c 81 0 # chmod a+r /dev/video0 # ln -s /dev/video0 /dev/video I then have /dev/video (symbolic link to /dev/video0) but it is useless less -f /dev/video0(or /dev/video) gives /dev/video0: No such device I've imported directly V4L in kernel USB too and usb works fine, and I have WinFast XP 2000 it works also fine except tvtime cannot compile because of my gcc version, but taht;s another story. |
