Dear Michael, some font information is required by the PDF standard and not available from the PFB files. Please see the writePDFfontinfo method in font/t1file.py We do not need any kerning information at this point from the afm file, so the afm file could probably be rather minimal. However, it is not possible to correctly extract the information from the PFB (and the TFM) file. How about just silencing this warning? I didn't try myself, but IIRC it is possible to silence certain warnings.
