Since there doesn't seem to be a lot of coverage of Python threads anywhere, I've thought of adding a chapter on that in "Thinking in Python." Note also that ColorBoxes.java is designed to show threads, whereas BoxObserver is only designed to show the observer pattern, and doesn't have any threading in it. The common feature between both of them is that they use a grid of colored boxes.
