If at some point someone were to get Togl building with Tk 8.4, the PyOpenGL Togl widget would be usable again (it's just a Python wrapper that calls through Tk to the Tk Togl widget). There is at least one other Tk OpenGL widget (i.e. not Togl, a different OpenGL binding), but I have neither interest nor time to devote to wrapping it. Honestly, in my opinion, Togl has been more pain than it's worth for a *long* time now, especially given that most GUI Python developers have long since moved away from Tk to wxPython, PyGame, PyGTK and/or PyQT. Tk's only strong recommendation for Python GUI development these days is that it's (still) bundled with the core distribution. Togl (the underlying Tk widget) is basically dead as a project, and I'm not interested in becoming a deep TCL-C-API developer just to maintain it, so I can't see investing more time in maintaining the wrapper as a great investment of my rather tiny amounts of PyOpenGL time. Good luck with whichever path you choose, Mike _______________________________________ Mike C. Fletcher Designer, VR Plumber, Coder http://members.rogers.com/mcfletch/ |
