Okay, so I probably shouldn't be trying beta1.3 with a dumb question like this: What do I need to REMOVE to get the 1.3 installation to work? I have trouble getting examples to "python setup.py py2app" due to a problem with py2app. I installed with pyobjc-1.3b1.mpkg (no errors), and have clearly messed things up. When I look around, it looks like the NEW py2app directory was installed as a sub-directory of the OLD py2app. (The newer stuff is in /Library/Python/2.3/py2app/py2app, and the older stuff in /Library/Python/2.3/py2app.) This could be an installer bug, as something like: cp -r /srcdir/blah /destdir/blah will stick the directory blah INTO /destdir/blah if /destdir/blah already exists. I'm also noticing that there are some old .so files around in /Library/Python/2.3/PyObjC that are now duplicated in a subdirectory. As much as I love OSX, I wish uninstalling, or maintaining parallel versions was a bit easier to manage. My "old" install was PyObjC 1.1 with separate installation of py2app-0.1.4. At this point, I think a clean resinstall of PyObjC is in order. Is it enough and proper to just: /bin/rm -f /Developer/Python/py2app # Where old py2app examples were installed /bin/rm -f /Developer/Applications/Python\ Tools/py2app /bin/rm -f /Library/Python/2.3/PyObjC* /bin/rm -f /Library/Python/2.3/py2app* Thanks! |
