I'm trying to write a Mail bundle plugin, with part of the code written using PyObjC. To write such a bundle, I created a Cocoa bundle project, and subclass MVMailBundle to have the main bundle class (APIs were extracted using class-dump). For the main bundle class, I implement +initialize and inside I register the bundle. This is the first possible point I can run PyObjC initialization code. The second possible point is in the -init of the main bundle class. However, I need a way to make a call to whatever classes I've coded in my Python modules, right from Obj-C bundle code. As far as I know it is impossible to write the entire bundle in PyObjC since the Mail APIs are not wrapped (not even published) yet. I know it's rather difficult to expose Python objects to Obj-C code. I'd like to hear what options I could have here. Please assume there is no Nib file involved. Thank you! |
