Hi Witold, Since pwiz has so many cross-platform executables, I think it's really much easier to do with bjam than setting up and maintaining a VS project. In your Visual Studio command prompt (or a regular one which you run "%VS100COMNTOOLS%vsvars32" in), you can simply call: devenv /debugexe <path to exe> <arguments> and you'll get a debug session. You need to turn on exception catching under the debug menu (annoying but easy) but other than that it's just like a normal debug session. You may have to open a source file manually if you want to set a break point in it. But if the exception gets thrown there, the file will open automatically when you break at that exception. Hope this helps, -Matt On 3/27/2014 10:35 AM, Witold E Wolski wrote: > Hi, > > I need to debug the qtofpeakpicker in pwiz_tools/commandline under windows. > > Although I run > generate_msvc.py C:\Users\witold\code\proteowizard-code\pwiz > > only a pwiz.sln which seems to build the library only is generated. > > Do I need to set up solution by hand to build the commandline tools within VS? > > best regards > Witold > |
