The good 'ol MassWolf [1] did handle calibration,
I guess that was because it called into the full-fledged MassLynx ?

I'd say calibration should be handled by the vendor API,
maybe one can lobby Waters to handle that ?

In the case of Bruker, the registry setting [2] should 
be documented on the website, and/or set by the pwiz installer.
Is the latter the case ?
