First, I have looked over some of the documentation on Prosper and also scanned the archived messages. I am a teacher and have been using the seminar package for many years in my lectures. This has worked quite well; but, now that I have had a glimpse of Prosper I would like to convert to this package. I am using the commercial package Y&YTeX on a Windows 2000 platform. This has a a very good GUI and works quite well with the Seminar package. However, it has it's own DVI and Postscript processors --- DVIWindo and DVIPSOne. I mainly perform the following two tasks in generating lecture material: 1) Overheads (transparencies) for my class lectures, 2) PDF files (containing these transparencies) for posting on the Web. Of course the overheads are produced via the Seminar package and I use Adobe Distiller (5.0) to generate PDF files from the Postscript files produced by DVIPSOne. I would be very interested in knowing how I could accomplish this with Prosper. Are there Prosper users running Y&YTeX? --V. Stokes |
