tomn>permissions were read only was what was blocking access. I didn't find it tomn>anywhere in the FAQ's, either, about needing to set unix permissions. Some knowledge of Unix filesystem fundamentals is assumed. The need for the execute bit to be on in order to chdir into a directory, and list the directory contents, is part of Unix, not a requirement imposed by proftpd itself. tomn>One thing about the docs-- I can't find references to error tomn>numbers like the 550 I dealt with. I even downloaded a fresh tomn>copy of proftp and untarred it and looked. Are the error numbers tomn>documented? FTP error codes are documented in RFC 959, the RFC that defines the protocol. The error codes, and their meanings, is also documented (somewhat) in the include/ftp.h source code file. Hope this helps...
