Yes, daily processing of the transfer logs would be more than sufficient for my needs. The problem is that I'm not familiar with linux scripting, so that sure is a problem for me. Perhaps anybody knows of a script out there that can process the transfer log and put it in a database? Or just running a fairly basic script against proftpd's log; it depends on the kind of granularity you're looking for. Processing the logs is fine for per-day, and (arguably) acceptable for per-hour. Anything more granular than that, and ftpwho would be the way to go, with the caveat that it can't help you if sendfile is enabled. I think I have that right. I'm sure folks will leap to correct if I'm not. =) --noah -- <huey> dd of=/dev/fd0 if=/dev/flippy bs=1024 <huey> ^^^ Making Flippy Floppy ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
