Hi All ... I am trying to include the default system PAM authentication with proFTPD1.2.8 to use /etc/passwd , and to do the same I am configuring proFTPD as follows: $./configure --enable-auth-pam --with-modules=mod_rewrite:mod_tls $make $make install Next as the README.PAM file says in order to configure PAM we need to edit the /etc/pam.d/ftp file & include the following lines: #%PAM-1.0 auth required /lib/security/pam_listfile.so item=user sense=deny file=/etc/ftpusers onerr=succeed auth required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so shadow nullok account required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so session required /lib/security/pam_pwdb.so but whats bothering me is do we need to manually edit the above mentioned _ftp_ file or does it gets created after proFTPD is configured, build and installed ? Did any one faced similar kind of problem? I evern tried configuring proFTPD using : $./configure --with-pam --with-modules=mod_rewrite:mod_tls and $./configure --enable-pam --with-modules=mod_rewrite:mod_tls But none of the above configurations created the /etc/pam.d/ftp file for me. Any one knows what going wrong? Theres something more which clicked to my mind, previously I configured proFTPD with the " --disable-pam " , since I didnt want PAM intially & now I am trying to include PAM, but before starting the new configuration for proFTPD i do the following: $make clean which according to me should clean all the settings. Waiting for some quick responses. Thanks SMS using the Yahoo! Messenger;Download latest version. |
