Overall, works great for me (Win XP Pro, 32-bit, using the 2008 binary version of polipo). There are some minor issues running under Windows: * * * DO NOT USE THE INSTALLER! - The installer script has a bug which creates a shortcut on your desktop AND assigns the 'D' (or was it 'S'?) key as a global keyboard shortcut to launch it, resulting in not being able to type that letter anymore! You don't really *need* an installer anyhow--Just unzip polipo WIN32 zip file in to it's own directory and create any shortcuts you want by hand, it's not overly complexe to set up; * * * No IPv6 support (with the pre-built binary, have not tried to compile it myself yet); * * * You have to use un*x style path names and conventions (possibly creating them on your C: drive), such as "/etc/resolv.conf", "/var/cache" et cetera (most paths can be reconfigured in the polipo config file, however.. except the resolv.conf file); * * * There is one logic error: polipo creates cache filenames using Base64 encoding, which *IS* case-sensitive, while Windows NTFS is case-INsensitive, which could result in a filename collision in very very rare situations; * * * Running polipo as a service under windows is a bit harder than un*x. I set mine up using a batch file and shortcut that whenever I click to launch Firefox, it starts polipo before starting Firefox, and configured Firefox with a proxy.pac which tries polipo first, then direct access to the web if no response from polipo (which almost never happens anyhow, but..) = = = Overall, it's a great proxy if you need something simple and have at least some technical skills to set everything up--It doesn't work so well as a "batteries included/out of box" solution.

Not Impressed. Lack of support for Win32X systems, deliberate or not, no working binary for windows, even the port doesn't work properly. Are you guys just trying to restrict access to TOR or what?
