libpng15 breaks applications that have ignored the fact that direct access to members of the png structures has been deprecated for at least 12 years., since libpng-1.0.0. There are a lot of such legacy applications. I they cannot be updated (author gone, etc.), they can use libpng12 which we still support and can coexist with libpng14 and libpng15.
