Hi, I have recently downloaded stage and player software. I was able to in= stall them (I did not do it in usr/local..). After this I also added the path for player in bash. And in bash, when I = use which player, it does give the correct path But, when I run stage on a world file (simple.world), then it gives the following error message. -------------------------------------------------------------------------= - ** Stage v1.1 ** argv[argc-1]: simple.world [World simple.world][./simple.pnm] Port 6601 is in use. Hi, Thanks Richard. I was not using the Read() function for plyerclient, a= s I though it is only for single data mode (non-continuous). The version 1.1 of stage had some means (Set channel: .. ), to set the color/channel mapping for the vision device as shown in example-> table.world. As I understand, each channel in the vision device is assigned to a parti= cular color that the device (camera) might happen to see in the world. So, by reading data about that channel, information about blobs that come across= this ptz device (parent of vision device) can be obtained. = But how do we fix relation between the colour and its particular channel = in 1.2 version? = I wanted to see if this could be used to make a terrain that can be ident= ified with color of that region of the world. Hello, I am attempting to install Player Stage on a Dell PC with Linux (Red Hat 9.0). I decided to install player and stage version 1.3.2. I guessed from other posts that I needed to install RTK first, but when I tried, I got an error asking for gtk-config. I checked the download area and I don't see anything that looks like gtk. Hi, I just started to use the player software for simulation.I am trying to use the amcl in localization problem. Can amcl be used with Gazebo in 3-D situation? And I want to use amcl to keep track of another object instead of localizing the robot itself.Is it feasible? If possible,can any one kindly show me some simple sample code(for driver and player part) regarding the amcl for reference? Unless you have a good reason to use AMCL, why not just use Gazebo's truth device? It gives you the real position of objects without the complexity and CPU requirements of AMCL. When I try to subscribe to one of them in playerv, Player throws a warning where states the following: "warning: encoding failed on message from 22:0 with type 1:1". Thanks in > advance! 22:0 is 'ir:0' and type 1:1 is a range data message, so your driver presumably supports the 'ir' interface and you're publishing range data. Since the encoding failed, I would guess that your driver is not filling in either the 'voltages_count' or the 'ranges_count' fields of the 'player_ir_data_t' structure. Those fields must be correctly filled in to match the amount of data that you put in the accompanying arrays. For example, if you don't supply voltage data, set 'voltages_count' to 0. brian.s |

Dear all, This is probably quite an easy issue to solve but being quite new to using Player has me a bit stumped. I am trying to get hold of the odometry information from a robot as I will be using this in a robot learning task. Thus, 6666 server cannot use the member functions ( GetCount(), GetData() ) of OpaqueProxy. Then , how can it get data from 6665 server without using these member functions? thanks. Hi, Which opaque driver are you using? If you want multiple clients to communicate through a single driver (for example the mcom driver) then you only want this to exist on one server. I think you need to describe your system more completely, i.e. what the purpose of the servers are, which clients you have and what you are trying to achieve.
