To all Stage/Player gurus, 1) Thanks to Brian and Nathan for your reply. I found out I could finally install Player and Stage on Linux with the following parameters: ./configure --disable-acoustics make install 2) However, I still cannot install RTK. There was no error message during installation ( when I issue ./configure and make install) but after the installation there was no RTK inside /usr/local or /usr/local/bin. Question: Can anybody tell me why? And how to install RTK on Linux? RTK is a library and has no associated executables. Thus, as the following lines indicate: > /bin/sh ../mkinstalldirs /usr/local/lib > /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 librtk.a /usr/local/lib/librtk.a > ranlib /usr/local/lib/librtk.a > /bin/sh ../mkinstalldirs /usr/local/include > /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 rtk.h /usr/local/include/rtk.h librtk.a and rtk.h are installed, respectively, in /usr/local/lib and /usr/local/include. You should find them there, as should Player's configure script. After removing 'config.cache' in your Player source tree, re-run './configure --disable-acoustics' and everything should work. brian. |

Dear all, I finally got Stage to work in my Redhat 8.0. For people who may have the same problem as me in the future, I would like to summarize the steps for installation: Stage Installation in Redhat 8.0 ======================= 0) Loggin as root 1) Get librtk and uncompress it. 2) Inside librtk's directory, do "./configure" and "make install" 3) Get Player and uncomress it 4) Inside player's directory, do "./configure --disable-acoustics" and "make install" 5) Get Stage and uncompress it 6) Inside Stage's directory, do "./configure" and "make install" 7) To test Stage, try go inside the world directory and do "stage table.world" Thanks Brian and Nathan. regards, Anthony Mak -------------------------------------------------------- Homepage : http://anthonymak.fcpages.com/index.htm Email : ant...@in...
