Heya guys! Looking for an older version of PlayerPro, 5.2. This was, I believe, the last supported version for 68k Mac. I originally started using PlayerPro back in probably 96 or 97. Just picked up an older 68k machine and want to experience it again. Thanks! todd |

Developer Preview 7 fixes an issue with the instrument list improperly refreshing the view (there may be cases where it still improperly refreshes the view). Also the application will try to get the "File Type" from the file's extension via UTI functions; it will also try to get the "File Type" by passing the actual File Type OSType to the UTI functions.. Regressions: The music list window won't be flushed when the app is first launched. Other changes: Replaced usage of APIs that are useless or even harmful on OS X (at least, how they were used), specifically MemFree() and MemFlush(). 10.4 is needed for PowerPC, while 10.5 is needed for Intel. PowerPC is given a higher priority than Intel. This will probably be removed when I'm certain that the needed data types have been properly byte swapped. Replace some usage of outdated Carbon File APIs with more modern Carbon File APIs. Remove the Memory window source files: we don't need to worry about memory usage on OS X. Force the line ending of source files to UNIX in the Xcode project. Code refactoring and indentation. |

The first bit of work from the PlayerPRO 6 re-write has reached a stage that I am happy with: The PlayerPRO Player allows you to play back trackers that PlayerPRO 6 supports, which are pretty much all the ones that PlayerPRO 5 can (with the exception of the MIDI plug-in, which uses 32-bit only OS X frameworks, so it needs to be re-written). For the minimum system requirements, they are fairly high: 10.9, and the app itself is 64-bit. Testing hasn’t been that rigorous, although the trackers that I have thrown at it have worked just fine. If you do have issues, open a ticket on the bug reporter: make sure you mention that it is with PlayerPRO Player. There should be a news post soon about the changes that have happened. |

PlayerPRO 5.10 Developer Preview 4 has been released. The fixes this time around is icons that will work on older versions of OS X, as well as fixing the music list saving and loading to be endian-safe. It also fixes a bug/typo with the IT plug-in. |

I have updated version 1.0 of the metadata plug-in to 1.0.1. This version will run on 10.5 and earlier, as well as PowerPC. Note that if you have OS X 10.6 or later, use version 1.4 of the plug-in: that version does not depend on the PlayerPROCore framework being installed, nor does it require any tracker plug-in being installed in the local Library folder as it has all the necessary code in it. I've also added a read-me to the metadata folder. |

Due to me copying stuff from trunk that has the rate as a regular integer, as opposed to PlayerPRO 5 which has it as an UnsignedFixed, some of PP5's code got over-written, which caused slow audio. I have patched it, so now audio should play back at a regular rate. |

I'm currently uploading what will hopefully be the final Developer Preview 3 version of PlayerPRO 5.10: This version fixes a lot of bugs related to byteswap, particularly in the MINs importer. Also, the copyright character in the tracker importer files is now an escaped constant based on the Mac OS Roman encoding, instead of the native encoding of the file (Which, for the most part, was UTF-8). This version also fixes a bug introduced in the earlier DP 3, mainly if there wasn't a plug-in directory in the same directory as the app, it wouldn't run. This version also has high-res icons done by Alex G. This version is built to run on older versions of OS X as far back as 10.2. It is Universal, so it will also run natively on Intel Macs. |

I just encountered an error when trying to run Developer Preview 3 of PlayerPRO 5. A fix is now in svn, but as the computer that I use to build version 5.10 is acting up, an updated file with a fix will take awhile. In the meantime, just create a folder called "Plugs" in the same directory as the PlayerPRO app. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. |

I have uploaded developer preview 3 of PlayerPRO 5.10, fixing the old MAD importers and other fixes from the PlayerPRO 6 branch. Also added is version 1.4 of the metadata importer. This version has the plug-ins and library statically linked so there won't be as much overhead when loading plug-ins. As for svn news, the PlayerPRO 6 branch has been moved to trunk, and the old PlayerPRO 6 branch will be deleted soon. Work will continue on trunk. |

I have uploaded a preview of the PlayerPRO 6 application. Note that it can only keeps and creates music lists, plays music files, export music files as a different tracker, AIFF, or MP4 audio, and shows information about instruments and samples. It does not have the capability to import samples or instruments, edit patterns, apply digital or filter plug-ins. |

Just so everyone knows, when I updated the project, it also moved the the default SVN repository. If you check-out code from the SVN repository, make sure you are using the updated repository. The revision on the new repository is 393, as opposed to the old one which is 452. |

There is a command-line utility that uses PlayerPRO called PPPlay. It also includes all the files needed to build and debug an application that uses the PlayerPRO framework. There are currently two versions: one for Windows, another for Mac. For the Mac, you will need OS X 10.6 or later to run it. It is a 64-bit and 32-bit universal binary. I am not sure what the requirements are for the Windows version: it most likely is XP or later. Note that multiple plug-ins may say they play the same file. I know that DMF and IT have this problem, and I suspect MED and Okta have this issue as well. |

After a lot of work, the import/export plug-in architecture for Mac OS X is up and working. As it stands, the plug-ins have a .ppimpexp extension and can be accessed from /Library/Application Support/PlayerPRO/Plugins as well as ~/Library/Application Support/PlayerPRO/Plugins . It will also look for them in the application's PlugIns directory. Note, however, that some plug-ins don't correctly byteswap data, so check in PowerPC mode (Rosetta) before saying that Plug-in X doesn't work ( I am aware that AMF might have this issue). |
