Hi Folks, the attachment is another attempt to provide multiple language support for the GtkSpell-spellchecking. It is very different from the patch of Mardy (sent on 2005-12-26 [PATCH] Add per buddy language selection for GtkSpell) and, as far as I can see, does not have the problems Nathan correctly pointed out. The language is a per-buddy setting and saved as a the "lang" setting in GaimBlistNode. To pick a language you need to add a line <setting name='lang' type='string'>sv_SE</setting> in a buddy-entry in your blist.xml. It is not possible to pick language in the user-interface. The current (stable) version of gtkspell does have language selection support through the function gtkspell_set_language(). The problem is that (like the FAQ says) there is no nice way to get a list of installed dictionaries. However, IMHO this should not stop gaim from supporting multiple dictionaries. This feature very important for people in multilingual environments (I chat in 3 different languages on a daily basis). I really hope we can get acceptable support for multiple dictionaries in gaim really soon. Elias PS Thanks for working on and improving gaim which is now considered a very stable product -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Elias Jarlebring e.j...@tu... http://www.tu-bs.de/~jarlebri |
