I don't really think that's going to help.  This is what my buddylist

Now I know people like to not "waste" a lot of screen space, but look at
the size of the entry.  I don't remember what our default status message
is if it exists anymore, but when it was "Hello!" that's what a new
user/upgrade will be presented with.  That doesn't seem very intuitive
to me at least.

In the screen shot above, throw a drag slider between the status drop
down and the imhtml.  If you want to see it, lemme know and I'll either
mock it up or code it real quick.
