I don't see how this slowed anyone down. If problems aren't identified where is development? Seems pretty critical to me that having the conversation window open would help the development process. I don't know the code well enough, but the developers do, and I wouldn't be able to send a "here is a patch to fix a crash that people have." All I can do is help and say "Gaim CVS has had this problem for a week and I don't know if anyone has noticed it," and someone in the future will notice it.
