Category: None Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Win32 Offscreen Conversation Relocator Initial Comment: This plugin is intended as a workaround for GTK Bug #153219. The symptoms are that conversation windows are created so that they are located outside of the working area of the screen. Simply copy the .dll file into your gaim\plugins directory, then start gaim, go to Tools->Preferences->Plugins and load the "Win32 Offscreen Conversation Relocator" plugin. All subsequently created conversation windows will be moved into the screen's working area if they are not there to start with. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Ed Cramer (ecramer) Date: 2005-06-07 00:19 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1292542 You are my personal hero. *hugs* ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Gigas-VII (gigas-vii) Date: 2005-03-20 09:41 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1010115 great job, datallah. this fixes my only major issue with Gaim. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2005-03-03 14:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 That is why it is the "Conversation Window Relocator", not the "Window Relocator". ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: jostin (jostin) Date: 2005-03-03 14:18 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1100842 The file transfer window does not seem to be fixed by this plugin. Other than the fact that file transfers are damn annoying in gaim in the first place, it would be great if you could get that working. One less click sequence to go through ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Beardsmore (uilleann) Date: 2005-03-01 10:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=473078 Well, I want middle, you want bottom left... sounds like it needs a pref pane to choose where it goes ;) For that matter, does gaim not open /other/ windows also at the top-left under the taskbar? e.g. incoming file transfer notifications, connection errors etc. I have a feeling that other windows can have the same problem, although dialogs change position every time they open (the stupid crawl-across-the-screen stagger algorithm that most software uses) so that's less of a problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: kakster (kakster) Date: 2005-03-01 10:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1230236 It would be awesome if you could create a plug-in that opens an i.m. window at the bottom-right of the monitor. I guess i'm one of the few people that places the windows taskbar at the top of the screen and so having an i.m. window open at the bottom-right of the screen would make me happy =) *PLEASE* let me know if you can do this, thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: dan (dfftoady) Date: 2005-02-25 16:35 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1226985 this is fantastic. thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Beardsmore (uilleann) Date: 2005-02-13 16:32 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=473078 Aha, that's better... :) The only thing better is if it located the window centrally on the screen ;) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andrew Corrigan (freakyc) Date: 2005-02-01 18:41 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=825598 Thanks for making this. Working great here too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Brandon Nimon (bnimon) Date: 2005-02-01 01:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1049916 Works great! Now I can actually use GAIM! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jim (jim3535) Date: 2005-01-31 23:05 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=862287 It works great.
