Here's My experience: Shoggoth.net averages around 3k hits per day... (http://www.shoggoth.net/webstats/ ignore january) at our high point (we where a link of the day on userfriendly) we scored 74021 hits in a matter of two days.. We've 29 on our newsletter list, and it takes a second to process them all.. We running off of a VA Linux box set up for virtual hosting.
