Feature Requests item #1146278, was opened at 2005-02-22 09:22 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=418983&aid=1146278&group_id=37132 Category: Interface Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Brian McCann (mediamanrit) Assigned to: Robert Treat (xzilla) Summary: Error checking Initial Comment: I can't find if this has been suggested before, so please forgive me if I missed something. I've got several users who decide it's not appropriate for them to read the manuals for PostgreSQL if they are using phpPgAdmin...which leads to a lot of unnecessary support calls coming from people trying to create tables and putting in bogus information for the row properties. For example, the latest (and most frequent) one is people trying to make, as they call it, a text field that is 500 chars long. So, they choose "text" as the field type, and put in 500 as the size, which throws a SQL error for obvious reasons. It would rock if the page could check what values have been entered to see if it matches the requirements/constraints for that data type.
