Does pg_admin allow a different default db per configured connection? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Adam Bartoszewicz (adamb111) Date: 2003-06-03 18:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=759145 My internet provider generated this problem. He configure and manage database, not I. I replaced 'template1' string with my database name and phpPgAdmin work fine (open source!). But this is not good solution. My propose is to add default database parameter to config file (e.g. PGAdmin II has such option). Adam ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Christopher Kings-Lynne (chriskl) Date: 2003-06-03 16:57 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=82305 Well, dude, if you're going to turn off a setting like that by playing with the system catalogs (which you're not supposed to do), then of course you're going to have problems. I'm not sure what I can do about it - what do you propose? Chris ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Adam Bartoszewicz (adamb111) Date: 2003-06-03 16:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=759145 You can easy reproduce this bug: -------------- Login as postgres and run update pg_database set datallowconn=false where datname = 'template1'; from psql command line. Now try connect to your database from phpPgAdmin 3.0 rc1. -------------- Best solution is set datallowconn=true, but I'm not database admin and cannot change this configuration. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Christopher Kings-Lynne (chriskl) Date: 2003-06-03 14:14 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=82305 What do you mean 'no right to template1'? There's no such thing as not having rights to template1 surely? There is deliberately no default database in config.inc.php, since template1 should be everyone's default database. Please send me what's logged in your postgresql log when you try to log in. Also, are you using the db_user_namespace option?
