I've upgraded phpmyadmin from 3.5.8 to 4.0.0/4.0.1, but the "recent tables" drop-down list is always empty. It worked fine with previous versions.
The only change I've made is the renaming of phpmyadmin storage tables, renamed as suggested from pma_* to pma* (two underscore), changing accordingly the privileges of the pma_control_user. Looking at the "pmarecent" table, it has no records.

Sorry, the formatting of my previous post was bad. The correct text is:
... renamed as suggested from pma_* to pma__* (two underscores), changing accordingly the privileges of the pma_control_user. Looking at the "pma__recent" table, it has no records.

I assume you have changed the entries in you config.inc.php file to reflect the table name changes. Please try deleting cookies and reloading the page.

    Madhura,
    I also have this problem.

Yes, I've renamed tables after changing my config.inc.php file. Always no recent tables even after deleting the phpmyadmin cookie, sorry.

In fact I was deceived by the already existing entries. No new entries seems to be adding.

Fixed in repository and will be part of a future release. Thanks for reporting.
