I use the search page a lot and I get frustrated at having to click in the search term field every time. In Firefox a tab suffices but in IE it takes numerous tabs. So here is a patch to set the focus to the first field on loading the page (except on the multi site search).

Please re-post the attachment as a complete PHP script. ZIP format is preferred, and should include the subdirectory where the script normally resides.

Not everybody is familiar with the *nix patch file format, or uses *nix as a development platform.

Sorry. It is an svn diff rather than a unix one. I assumed that being an svn based project this would be the recommended method of submitting patches. Tortoisesvn is able to apply patch files directly and I believe unix systems have a patch command for the same thing. I would recommend trying it as it copes with the situation where the version the recipient has checked out may not be the same version that the submitter made the change on. I have attached a zip file as requested.
    File Added: search.zip

Was this ever added to SVN?
