Hello, Really glad to tell the world that the Qt port of PCManFM file manager is almost ready for the first alpha release. Most of the planned features are done. Just for clarification: There is no plan to replace the original gtk+ version with the Qt port. They will coexists and serve for different users. The only thing missing now is thumbnail support. Because the thumbnail support requires some upstream fixes in libfm library, it's not available at the moment. So I'd like to ask if someone is willing to test it or help the translation part. The source code is here: git://pcmanfm.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/pcmanfm/pcmanfm-qt Currently it features: 1. File system browsing 2. Desktop icon + wallpaper management 3. Volume management, including "auto mount" and "auto run" for removable devices. 4. Seamless remote filesystem access via gio/gvfs (ssh, ftp, ...). The first formal tarball release is planned. If anyone is interested in helping translation, the *.ts files are in pcmanfm/translations and libfm-qt/translations dirs. (Officially it's not part of the original LXDE, just a Qt port of PCManFM and libfm. Translation in Qt is not done with gettext and po files. You'll need Qt Linguist to edit the *.ts files.) Thank you! |
