I'm using PCManFM 1.2.0 and in some cases the address bar does pop up unexpectedly, recommending some directories and blocking so the view of the directory. Here are the reproduction steps:

  1. Open PCManFM so that you are in ~.
  2. Create another tab.
  3. Go with this tab up until you are in /.

Now the address bar pops up and shows for every directory in / a line.

This is the same issue as in https://sourceforge.net/p/pcmanfm/feature-requests/331/, it is a side effect of location bar focus after new tab creation. Thank you very much.

It is just indirectly the same issue:

    1. The selection of the address bar may be the intended behavior but I highly doubt a user would like to get annoyed by a normaly completely blocked view of /.
    2. Sometimes the popup appears and sometimes not. It seems it is more likely to appear if the up-navigating is done very fast. This implies that this is a bug.

Well, you are right it might be inconvenient. May be navigating "UP" should change focus to the view but anyway 1.2 is released therefore in feature freeze state so it can be changed only in 1.3.

About popup not appearing sometimes - it might be due to mentioned bug with cursor positioned at beginning of address bar, and you know it is fixed in the current GIT sources, i.e. I agree it is a bug but it is fixed already.

    Thank you.

Delaying this to 1.3 and declaring it as feature request is not the problem. It is just important that the behavior gets optimized at some point in the future.

On testing this now with PCManFM 1.2.1 / LibFM 1.2.1 I'm still seeing this bug (but I can confirm that the cursor bug is fixed).
