Category: Implement New Feature >Group: For 6.0 Status: Open Resolution: None >Priority: 6 Private: No Submitted By: Frank Kliewe (frank_kliewe) Assigned to: Andrew McDougall (tir-gwaith) Summary: No Option for Continuous Spell Effects on Custom Items Initial Comment: Moved from PCGenDM: Tracker [1041968] originally submitted by kingpaul Date Submitted: 2004-10-07 06:16 <https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php? func=detail&aid=850211&group_id=36698&atid=417819> Moved from: [ 918176 ] No Option for Continuous Spell Effects on Custom Items http://sourceforge.net/tracker/? func=detail&aid=918176&group_id=25576&atid=384719 There is currently no option when creating a custom item, such as a ring, to give it the "continuous" spell effect. For example, my character has commissioned a Ring of Spider Climb which is continuous use. It is NOT a command-word activated item, nor does it have daily charges. Yet there is no option for choosing this in the program. Obviously, I can choose one of the others and still create the item, just remembering the detail, but this is annoying to say the least and incorrectly calculates the cost of the custom item. And when did 'cold iron' become part of the basic cost for all custom items? Thanks! Once we've had a chance to see if we can get it coded up in data, and possibly know what kind of code we need added, should it be over here.... ------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------- Date: 2004-10-06 16:40 Sender: kingpaul Logged In: YES user_id=277877 Is this still valid? ------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------- Date: 2004-03-17 18:43 Sender: karianna Logged In: YES user_id=252169 Doug, thoughts? ------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------- Date: 2004-03-17 17:53 Sender: jaymecox Logged In: YES user_id=118656 100% data! ------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------- Date: 2004-03-17 15:53 Sender: karianna Logged In: YES user_id=252169 Jayme, thoughts? I wonder why nobody ever bothers with describing the actual problem in a tracker. Tir, the one here seems to be COST? I see a "workaround" in the RSRD that splits this request into 4 EQMODs, based on the length of the Spell duration. Is the problem here that we will need some Spell duration variable for the COST tag, which then gets filled by the Eqbuilder to calculate the COST? -- Frank ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Frank Kliewe (frank_kliewe) Date: 2007-02-26 04:04 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1241568 Originator: YES Hm. I need to take a closer look, cause I don't understand all the fuzz here. Why wouldn't a simple EQBUILDER EQMOD suffice here? Let's say "|Spell Effect (In Continuous Use)". -- Frank ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Date: 2006-08-24 10:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=252169 Probably needs a spec or that equip var stuff? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=750092&aid=1411318&group_id=25576 |
