#429 What's Up with the extra charges?

I was looking at purchasing the $9 version for installation on a flash drive. However 2 extra charges for 1 year of upgrades and a completely unnecessary CD backup to be shipped.

There was no edit to remove any of these extra charges.

Are these mandatory purchases in order to buy your product?

It's not the price that I mind, I was going to make a $30 donation for the free version, it's the way you added them on with no warning after you got the payment information. There was no cancel button so I just closed the window without purchasing.

Should I be worried about this charging my credit card anyway?

Thanks for bringing this up!

1. Your credit card has not been charged (I get notifications when a purchase is made).
2. I don't handle the e-shop directly - I'll check and get back to you on that. I know for a fact that recent purchases have been made without the additions, though.

I've just checked - if you click on "add to cart" instead of "Buy Now!" you have the option of removing the extras. I'm not happy with this, and will contact the e-commerce shop to see how this can be changed. If needed, I'll remove these options entirely.
