I've been using Password Safe from the late 90's on my desktop. I'd now like to have it available on iphone 5 and ipad without having to re-enter data from the last 14 years. Will the .dat file I'm using be compatible with the new version. I would appreciate a link as to how to go about achieving this.

I don't know about the iOS versions, but the current PC version certainly supports your .dat file. I suggest you donload the latest version of PasswordSafe to your desktop, use it to read your .dat file and save it as a new .psafe3 file (the default). You can read the .psafe3 file on your iPhone, etc.

Thanks for your help. I've downloaded the current version and opened and viewed the .dat file. When I try and save it as a new .psafe3 file, it tells me that the file is currently locked by Lou@Main which is me. How do I get around this?

Odd. Probably the quickest way to get around this is to save under a different filename, using Save As...
