Since I have no e-mail subscriptions, why am I getting e-mail when new topics are created? How can I contact the people who handle the blog software? Can anyone help me? Thanks.

I'm just now trying to figure out how to subscribe to this thread, so I might not be too much help. But check out the bottom of this webpage https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/passwordsafe-users. I got to it by clicking "Mailing Lists" (top of this page) then "passwordsafe-users."
(Kind of funny that I was clicking on the "Update Email Subscriptions" button at the bottom of this forum when your post popped up with similar subject. But I suppose it was my new topic of Show Notes in Edit that triggered your post.)

I found it: When the Open Discussion list of posts is displayed, hover your mouse over the envelope in the dark grey bar that says "Open Discussion". You'll see that toggles Subscribe/Unsubscribe to this Discussion.

It seems that I was not subscribed, which makes me think something is really broken somewhere.... When I hovered, my choice was to "subscribe to this discussion". I presume the "discussion" is the whole "Open Discussion" list of topics.
I subscribed and then unsubscribed. Maybe that will help.
Thanks for figuring out that part at least, we'll see what happens now!
And yes, I had gotten a message about your "Notes" topic, and also a couple of earlier ones, so it wasn't your fault! :-)

If I click that "Change" link after the e-mail address, all of the choices there say that I am not subscribed to anything. That big blue button is labeled SUBSCRIBE to updates (not UNSUBSCRIBE from updates). Yet I am getting e-mails. Weird.

The same here. Since I responded to a thread in 'Open Dsicussions', I seem to be subscribed to that (sub-)forum. It's not thread related. I get notification of every post in every thread.
Where does one manage one's subscriptions or defaults? /me continues the hunt...

I'm just about to try this: Goto your sourceforge Account / Monitor tab / Forums You Are Monitoring.
Although both PasswordSafe forums are shown as monitored for me, I was not getting notifications before I responded to a thread recently. I have a fish-based memory and can't remember what my subscriptions were, but I certainly would have seen a lot of notifications for a long time before that response, unless something changed recently.
This is probably part of SourceForge's new functionality.
According to the messages I get, you should be able to browse to https://sourceforge.net/auth/prefs/
and unsubscribe from these things.
I have unsubscribed; that's the problem. I still get messages. I'll take your suggestions and open a support ticket with SourceForge; thanks for that pointer.

I am still getting messages on threads and topics I am not subscribed to. Does ANYONE know how to fix this? Help!
