The following steps will illustrate this issue.

  1. Add a new Entry
  2. Use Edit>Add Group to create a new group
  3. View/Edit the Entry created in step #1 and change the Group on the Basic tab to the Group created in step #2

The tree view will show the open diamond icon indicating that the Group is empty even though the entry will be shown in the Group from step#2.

Even if the database is saved and reopened the Tree view continues to show the Group from step #2 as empty.

If I add a new Entry but select the Group created in step #2 during the creation of this entry, then the Tree view icon will change to a solid diamond indicating that the Group is non-empty.

So the issue seems to be if existing Entries are moved to an empty Group that the Tree view does use the correct icon.
