Hi PF Users, I'm currently working on a PacketFence setup for our school environment for over 4 days now. I believe Packetfence is the perfect solution for our 'BYOD problem'. After a few days of experimenting and reading all the documentation, I still cannot get PacktetFence to change the VLAN off my Switch. There is definitely some action, but PacketFence seems to try setting the correct VLAN through Telnet in stead of SNMP. The Switch is a Dell PowerConnect 3448 and here are some log details; --- >From PacketFence.log: Link Down: Jan 29 12:52:43 pfsetvlan(17) INFO: nb of items in queue: 1; nb of threads running: 0 (main::startTrapHandlers) Jan 29 12:52:43 pfsetvlan(17) INFO: down trap received on 192.168.1.10 ifIndex 42 (main::handleTrap) Jan 29 12:52:43 pfsetvlan(17) INFO: setting 192.168.1.10 port 42 to MAC detection VLAN (main::handleTrap) Jan 29 12:52:43 pfsetvlan(17) INFO: finished (main::cleanupAfterThread) Link Up: Jan 29 12:52:47 pfsetvlan(19) INFO: nb of items in queue: 1; nb of threads running: 0 (main::startTrapHandlers) Jan 29 12:52:47 pfsetvlan(19) INFO: up trap received on 192.168.1.10 ifIndex 42 (main::handleTrap) Jan 29 12:52:47 pfsetvlan(19) INFO: setting 192.168.1.10 port 42 to MAC detection VLAN (main::handleTrap) Jan 29 12:52:47 pfsetvlan(19) INFO: MAC: a4:ba:db:xx:xx:xx is of status unreg; belongs into registration VLAN (pf::vlan::getRegistrationVlan) Jan 29 12:52:53 pfsetvlan(23) INFO: ignoring unknown trap: 2013-01-29|11:52:49|UDP: [192.168.1.10]:161->[192.168.1.5]|0.0.0.0|BEGIN TYPE 0 END TYPE BEGIN SUBTYPE 0 END SUBTYPE BEGIN VARIABLEBINDINGS .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0 = Timeticks: (7428158) 20:38:01.58|.1.3.6.1.6.3.1.1.4.1.0 = OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.89.151|.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.89.2.3.1.0 = STRING: "%STP-W-PORTSTATUS: e42: STP status Forwarding "|.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.89.2.3.2.0 = INTEGER: 1|.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.89.57.2.8.1.0 = INTEGER: 42|.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10895.5000.2.89.57.2.8.2.0 = INTEGER: 0 END VARIABLEBINDINGS (main::parseTrap) Jan 29 12:53:08 pfsetvlan(19) ERROR: ERROR: Can not connect to switch 192.168.1.10 using Telnet (pf::SNMP::Dell::PowerConnect3424::_setVlan) Jan 29 12:53:08 pfsetvlan(19) INFO: finished (main::cleanupAfterThread) >From My Switch (Dell PowerConnect 3448) (please don't mind the wrong time); 01-Jan-2000 21:38:52 %LINK-W-Down: e42 01-Jan-2000 21:38:58 %LINK-I-Up: e42 01-Jan-2000 21:39:02 %STP-W-PORTSTATUS: e42: STP status Forwarding 01-Jan-2000 21:39:21 %AAA-W-REJECT: New telnet connection for user unKnown, source 192.168.1.5 destination 192.168.1.10 REJECTED --- Also I don't know why the Telnet connection comes from user 'unKnown'. I've setup the correct username and password in the switch info, and I can reach the switch from the server using Telnet. Anybody got an idea of something I'm missing or doing wrong? Hope somebody can help me :-) Grtz David. |
