#160 symlinks don't work in tar files

When creating tar files, symbolic links are not stored with the correct flag to indicate that are symbolic links.
When extracting a tar file that does contain proper symbolic links, these are similarly not recreated with the correct flag.
Other archive formats seem to handle symlinks correctly.
