I'd love to check in 1.4.1 into py152-backport. My sourceforge username is netmanakre. Here is what I'm curently working on for my internal product. - GUI integration (if script is running on windows, x or mac, and invalid options are presented, or no options are presented, pop up a gui editor that allows manual entry of options, and stores previously used command line in a .optik file in the user's home directory for quick selection of previously entered options) There are also a few other things I'm looking at overloading Optik to do, but have not even started on. - Allow parsing of arguments also (via .add_argument methods, supporting store and append actions) - User definable types. - Per option validation tests (i.e. check to see if a value is a path of a readable file, be able to set options as exclusive, so you could specify that --vegetarian precludes using --with-ham.) If anyone might be interested in these kind of things, I'll post updates as I make progress. The code I am creating has to run on all versions of Python 1.5.2+, so it's not going to be as elegant as I'd like it to be.
