No, the APIC configs are and the IOAPIC is on: CONFIG_PREEMPT=y CONFIG_X86_UP_APIC=y CONFIG_X86_UP_IOAPIC=y CONFIG_X86_LOCAL_APIC=y CONFIG_X86_IO_APIC=y CONFIG_X86_TSC=y CONFIG_X86_MCE=y But see my reply to Will's questions since the APIC->NMI never worked on this laptop - I've always had to use RTC for 2.4 kernels.
