Make sure the system is idle. opcontrol -e CPU_CYCLES:25000 opcontrol --start *at this point, some interrupts are generated then it goes quiet* ./a & ./a & (these are tight while loops that just eat CPU) Observing /proc/perfmon shows no more interrupts are generated.
