C is a different matter. Note that you don't need C++ to do a GUI. Both GTK and Lesstif will work with plain C. GTK has the advantage of blending in with GNOME stuff. Since oprofile is a developer tool, you might just demand a recent C++ compiler. It's "g++-3.2" on my Debian box. If "specific distro code to detect" stuff isn't easy, then you're not getting much out of the autoconf/automake crud. |
